What is the PSCI?
A vision of excellence in safety, environmental, and social outcomes
The PSCI exists to advance and embed responsible practices in pharmaceutical, life science, and healthcare supply chains.
The PSCI is a non-profit organization powered by our Members, who represent more than two-thirds of the pharmaceutical industry and collectively generate over $1.3 trillion in annual revenue.
Our Members, their suppliers, and approved auditors work together to uphold the PSCI Principles and collaborate through our three modes of impact: Audit, Capability, and Projects, to define standards, develop tools, and convene expertise to advance responsible supply chain practices.
There are three avenues to contribute to the PSCI vision:
- Membership
- Supplier Partnership
- Approved Audit Firms
Companies should apply to the relevant category, depending on their primary activities.
PSCI for Members
Becoming a PSCI Member means contributing to a community committed to driving responsible value chain practices. Our Members uphold the PSCI Principles and abide by the Membership expectations.
PSCI Membership is open to companies in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry that share our vision of excellence in safety, environmental, and social outcomes across the global pharmaceutical and healthcare value chain.
Our Members
There are two types of Membership
Full Membership
Full Membership is for companies that are ready to fully participate in PSCI and is a great way to demonstrate leadership.
Full Members contribute 5+ PSCI audits annually and take a leading role in PSCI programs and activities.
Associate Membership
Associate Membership allows companies to learn as a part of PSCI whilst you build your sustainability and audit programs. Associate Members must progress to Full Membership within three years.
Associate Members pay an additional 25% on the annual fees because they do not actively contribute to the audit program.
PSCI for Suppliers
Free supplier access
Registering on our platform is the first step to unlocking the benefits of engagement. Give your company and teams access to a range of free tools and resources, helping you stay aligned with industry expectations for suppliers.
Have you had a PSCI audit at your site? Then share the information with your customers and reduce the audit burden by avoiding duplication of audit.
Supplier Partnership
Supplier Partnership is available to companies in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry that share our vision of excellence in safety, environmental, and social outcomes across the value chain. Supplier Partners commit to the PSCI Principles and contribute to a community that drives responsible value chain practices.
Supplier Partners must have a complete company profile with PSCI, share all PSCI audits of your own facilities including a transparent CAPA with all major and critical items closed (audits must represent a minimum of 20% of your total busines), and start engaging with the PSCI Maturity Models, so that you can champion the PSCI Principles on site.
PSCI for Auditors
To ensure quality and integrity, PSCI audits are carried out either by qualified internal auditors working at PSCI Member companies or by professional and independent third-party audit firms, approved by the PSCI.
If you are interested in becoming a PSCI approved audit firm, please refer to the New Audit Firm application Brochure for more guidance on the requirements and the process.
When working with an Auditor, we ask PSCI Members to verify that the Auditor's qualifications meet the requirements outlined in the Audit Guidance for PSCI Audits.
