WE ARE PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE THAT ROBERT WILLIAMS HAS BEEN ELECTED VICE CHAIR OF THE PHARMACEUTICAL SUPPLY CHAIN INITIATIVE (PSCI).

He succeeds Deirdre O’Reilly who completed her Vice Chairmanship at the end of 2023 and will transition into her new role as Chair. The PSCI Board also saw the departure of Vicki Stone-Bjarup who has completed her term as Past Chair and will now co-lead the new Projects Committee.

Rob has over 25 years’ experience in technical, commercial, and leadership roles across a range of industry sectors, from mining and renewable electricity to telecoms and pharmaceuticals. As Director of Sustainable Procurement in the Global Procurement team at AstraZeneca, Rob is accountable for delivery of AstraZeneca’s sustainability goals through their supply chain. He partners with Group Sustainability to deliver the corporate sustainability objectives, developing supply chain performance against environmental and social sustainability goals. He also works cross-functionally with teams from R&D, Operations, Commercial, and Corporate Communications to engage with AstraZeneca’s employees, suppliers, and customers.

Rob has been a longstanding and actively engaged member of the PSCI through both the Responsible Sourcing and Decarbonisation Topic Teams. As co-lead of the Decarbonisation team, he worked with members to develop a Decarbonisation Pathway to enable pharma and healthcare suppliers to understand where to start and what actions to take on their road to net zero. He also played a key role in establishing the partnership between the PSCI and Energize, delivered by Schneider Electric Sustainability Business, as well as the PSCI’s ongoing engagement with the Sustainable Markets Initiative.

In his role as Vice Chair, Rob will support the Board in the delivery of the PSCI’s strategic vision for excellence in safety, environmental, and social outcomes across the global pharmaceutical and healthcare value chain.
