The PSCI Board welcomes Deirdre O'Reilly as Chair

WE ARE PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE THAT DEIRDRE O’REILLY HAS BEEN APPOINTED CHAIR OF THE PHARMACEUTICAL SUPPLY CHAIN INITIATIVE (PSCI).

She succeeds Ingrid Vande Velde who completed her Chairmanship at the end of 2023 and will transition into the role of Past Chair. The Board also welcomed Robert Williams as Vice Chair.

As Senior Director of Global EHS Supplier Operations and Business Development at Viatris, Deirdre safeguards Viatris’ supply chain by minimizing risk from a business continuity, liability, and reputational perspective.

Deirdre brings over 24 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry to her new role within the PSCI. She has held leadership positions in site operations, EHS, supply chain, and technical product transfers at Pfizer, Upjohn Pfizer, and today with Viatris. She is a passionate advocate for responsible practices in the pharmaceutical supply chain and committed to working with the PSCI to achieve its strategic vision for excellence in patient, safety, environmental, and social outcomes.

Deirdre has been a longstanding and actively engaged member of the PSCI, holding a range of roles on both Committees and specialist Topic teams, such as Decarbonization and Human Rights & Labor. As Chair of the Governance Committee, Deirdre worked to expand the scope and impact of the committee, enabling the formation of the Partnerships Committee, launch of the Member Engagement survey & Mentoring program, and supplier impact workstream.

In her role as Chair, Deirdre will lead the Board in the delivery of the PSCI’s strategic vision for excellence in safety, environmental, and social outcomes across the global pharmaceutical and healthcare value chain. She will also work to strengthen the PSCI's relationships with its members and other stakeholders.

Speaking about her appointment Deirdre says,

I am honored to be Chair of the PSCI and to be a part of this organization at these exciting and influential times. Our launch this year of the new supplier partnership model and Projects Committee are two major initiatives that I believe will change the shape and direction of the PSCI, enhance our recognition, and make us more synonymous with responsible practices in the supply chain.

I firmly believe that collectively, as One Voice, we are impactful and can make a difference in the delivery of responsible practices across the pharmaceutical supply chain. I look forward to working with everyone on the delivery of our shared strategy.
