Supporting suppliers
Our capability building program helps suppliers meet our standards.
The aim of our capability building program is to build supplier knowledge and expertise so they can identify and solve safety, social, environmental and ethical issues for themselves.
We regularly develop and share guidance and resources in the following areas: process safety management, industrial hygiene, safety, environment (including PIE/AMR), labor and ethics.
We also host supplier conferences, webinars, and provide training materials and tools, all of which are accessible through our web application for members and suppliers.
Our capability building activities include:
Conferences
Each year, our members collaborate to deliver supplier conferences in some of the most important sourcing regions. We are moving towards a combination of face-to-face and virtual conferences. These are a great opportunity for suppliers to share best practice, hear about the latest developments across a broad range of topics, learn how to use our resources to meet the expectations of the PSCI Principles, and interact with peers. Recent and upcoming conferences are detailed in our events listings.
Virtual learning
We host regular webinars on issues prevalent in our collective supply chain, sharing best practice and areas for improvement. We also offer the PSCI Principles E-Learning Tool providing an overview on the PSCI Principles and their practical application within supplier sites.
Resource library
Our resource library is freely available and contains online tools and materials on a wide range of topics in support of the PSCI principles. This is also where suppliers can find tools designed to support the audit process.
Online community
Our global network of hundreds of suppliers are connected via our online community. The web application was created to give suppliers a space to interact, engage in dialogue, as well as access our training opportunities, resources, and latest news. All suppliers to PSCI member companies are encouraged to join the community.
